Hi all,
I have an instance of Oracle 7.3 running on an NT machine. The database files are located on a RAID 5 system.
After creating the database I import tables,
so I created datafiles with an initial size of 160MB which
should be enough. The import works fine and after that
I can even work with the data.
But from time to time I can't connect anymore (via ODBC) to that
database instance. When I start instance manager I can see,
that the Oracle service is started but the instance has stopped.
I then also stop the service and start it again. In svrmgr23
I try to startup the database. The following errors are
reported after a while:
ORA-01172
ORA-01151
When I execute the RECOVER DATAFILE 'name_of_datafile_reported'
I get the following error messages:
ORA-00283
ORA-00600
If the media would have been corrupted, I think RAID 5 should have
reported that or at least further messages should appear in the
event viewer.
How can I avoid always restoring data once a week?
Ciao
Michael
