You are right. The SP and the RS/6000 code is different for V7.3. The main differences are in the way oracle uses datafiles on the different platforms as well as how Oracle generates the SCN number. With the SP, the SCN number is generated from the SP's high performance switch clock. The header block for each datafile is also different. These differences are present whether you start oracle on a single node of the SP or start up the parallel server and run multiple instances. Also, if you cluster RS/6000's together, you will use HACMP to provide shared disk access as well as use the HACMP lock manager.
