Dear Abdullah,

What version of SQL*Net would you be using on what platform? What does the log-file tell us?
This information would be good to have.

I ASSUME :

* You work on an UNIX-type OS
* You're account starts the listener and logs off
* You don't have a bugfix from Oracle

Try starting the listener like:
$ nohup listener start command &

This is a work around to prevent the listener stopping when you log off.
