I just installed Oracle8.0.2.0.2 couple weeks ago. The installation is a snap as I expected from Oracle(also as a result of my previous experience with Oracle7.X). But unfortunatedly, the sqlplus that comes with the server doesn't work on Oracle7.3 when using select statement. This is, among other, a known bug and is fixed in 8.0.2.0.3. I got my copy through Oracle Developer Programme for free, so I don't have any complaints about the bug.
