Fanfare? It's what keeps the software industry (especially Mr Gates and Mr Ellison) alive! :-)

From the info on the Web site it seems Oracle 8 is available for Solaris (Sparc) and NT (Intel) now. Other OSs seem to be following next month. Again, best to phone Oracle for a ship date for X86 Solaris.
