trace and tkprof

Hello!

I have a customer with some complaints regarding performance. We found out that SQL*Net logging was turned on and left on which evidently bombs performance.

I wonder now if perhaps they also have SQL_TRACE turned on for their server, or at least some sessions. Is there some way I can determine from within a pro-c application I have written that this is the case so I could inform them?

Could SQL_TRACE be responsible for some marginal performance losses?

Thanks,
Jeff Kish
