VB5.0---->Oracle7

Anyone out there connecting from VB5.0 to Oracle7 on a remote server? What are the tools needed to do this? VB5.0 seems to have a lot of buzzwords like RDO, ODBCDirect,JET, DAO, etc. What are the pro's and con's of these various options? Any non-ODBC solutions?

Also, anyone out there using VB5.0 ActiveX "VBD"s over the internet? Can these ActiveX things connect to databases over the internet?

Any tidbits, however seemingly irrelevant, are welcome. Thanks
