Being an acadamian, I would expect this to be the case. If you ever join the real world, you will see that this is not always an option. When you are under pressure to get something cheap and quick that will integrate easily and not take a full time administrator, NT becomes a very real option.

Bitch and whine all you want, we get more requests for our package on NT than we do on Unix. A very large government organization has submitted an RFP and it explicitly states NT. I am not defending one over the other, just stating that the capabilities are very similar.

And, if you really must know, I am certified in these areas (which I feel means nothing, but my employer requires it) and have installed dozens of systems, both hardware and software. I doubt very much that you know more about it than I do, especialy in a real-world business environment.
