Oracle Replication Option

Hi,

   This is a question posed to anybody who has actually used the replication option of Oracle 7.3 Workgroup Server/Enterprise.

   Our project has the following configuration

          Oracle 7.3 Wkgrp Server/WindowsNT and PB 4.0    The client wants to replicate certain table information across    his different branches.
   Replication is an option being considered.

• Is the replication row/column level ?
• If synchronous replication is used are the overheads very high
• Since the database is already existing does it warrant any database design ?
• Do the application programs have to altered in any way.

       Information will be much appreciated.
