There is getting to be quite a bit of info available for Data Warehouses these days (both in book and on the web)
Two must reads are
Building the Data Warehouse W. H. (Bill) Inmon 0-471-56960-7 The Data Warehouse Toolkit Ralph Kimball 0-471-15337-0
You might also try the web sites for redbrick & microstrategies.
You will want to pay close attention to star schemas and time sequenced data. These are not an end all be all but rather a good starting place.
