Yes, and a moderate pain in the butt to construct... but I did it once and keep it around handy in my text editor to paste into the appropriate place when asked...

My system likes my connect string... which is

*paste*
(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world) (PROTOCOL = TCP) (Host = msivs) (Port = 1526) ) )(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = msi)))
