There is a difference in the views used by the 7.3 version of Export that makes it incompatible with 7.2 and lower databases. As I recall, there was some kind of hack that I got from Oracle support last year that fixed it. You had to edit some of the decode statements in the export view creation scripts. (that was at my old job and I don't have the exact info anymore)
Call Oracle support - they'll probably be able to dig up the answer.
