If the two good questions about the file system existing and premissions being correct I believe that you need an something like '/oracle/archlog/xxxx' where xxxx is some string that all you logs will start with. Our log_archive_des string is set like this and works. Also did you verify your setting of 'log_archieve_format' to be correct?
