I wouldnot consider the iBCS module a hack, and certainly not ugly! The cookbook or any other means to get Oracle running under Linux is sort of a hack (I install under SCO link Oracle and so on then I copy the whole Oracle tree to Linux, of course I need access to a SCO machine).

What's better have a not so nice solution or not to have Oracle running at all? And it runs just fine, even on SMP hardware!
