select for update on 7.3.2

Has anyone experienced a problem with 'select for update' queries on 7.3.2. We are
considering upgrading from 7.2.3 to 7.3.2 and our acceptance testing has revealed
a problem which hangs the unix process associated with the session that performs
the select ..... for update query. Although I have experienced the problem on two seperate instances, I don't yet have a definitive recipe for ORACLE to reproduce the problem.

I am currently jousting with ORACLE 1st level support trying to resolve this problem. ORACLE support's position is that 7.3.2 is innocent until proven guilty, and the onus is on me to either resolve the problem myself or to provide ORACLE with a definitive way to reproduce the problem. While I fully appreciate their position, my position is that I don't have the time nor the inclination to isolate and diagnose what I believe to be server problems (we have already had one patch).

This is why I am desperately hoping that somebody else has experienced this problem. This would shift the burden of proof and allow me to get on with the rest of my duties.

Thanks for any help.
