Enterprise vs Workgroup?

We had to store and retrieve echofilms taken in various (~5) client echostations.

I would like to know
a) if there are relevant differences in the performances of

Enterprise and Workgroup (apart the presence or not of parallel query option and other options)

b) if there will be a relevant difference of performance passing to

Pentium (with Enterprise) from HP.

I hope I gave sufficient info.
Any hint will be appreciated
