Using UNIX export files on VMS

Has anyone any experience of exporting from a UNIX Oracle
database and importing the data into a VMS Oracle db? 



If so how did you get the file over to VMS? We've been having
problems getting the VMS import to recognize the file as
an exp/imp file. 



By the way, ftp is not an option for the file transfer for us.
