I would like to create a standby database with the alter database commands using the mechanism of piping archived redolog-files to the other machine. But what makes me scaring is the information in the online redolog-files. Is it true that i would lose all commited transactions whose changes were written to the active redologfile when switching to the standby database because of a breakdown of the original server?
