ORA-01575: timeout waiting for space management resource

From: Jeff Shervey <jeff.shervey_at_us.landisstaefa.com>

Message-ID: <01bc1deb$3f670f10$b6ee1bac@usbgrjeff>#1/1

I seem to get a couple minutes a day of SMON errors in my alert_sid??.log file. I called it into Oracle and they said that it probably is from heavy TEMP space extent expansion. But I also saw a posting that someone thought it has something to do with Redo Log usage and/or copy latch contention? Anybody ever figured this one out?
We are running Oracle Manufacturing and soon the rest of the Financial apps.

Thank You - Jeff Shervey
