Try this:
- open an new MS Access 7.0 database.
- when you have gotten thru the naming dialog to the 'name:Database' window with the Tables,Queries,Forms,.... tabs

• select on the nested menus: File -> Get External Data -> Link Tables - when you have gotten to the 'Link' window
• look for the drop down list titled 'Files of type:'
• the bottom entry on my list is 'ODBC Databases ()'
• select that entry for the ODBC datasource you want or use the 'new' button to make a new one. The critical item is the SQL*NET Connect string when using the Oracle ODBC driver like I am. - You'll need to 'LOGON to ORACLE' - then select from the list of 'Link Tables' - open the table from the 'name:Database window' and modify the data to your hearts content.

PS. I don't remember modifying any options in MS Access but if any of the above doesn't work, try looking at them for something significant. Also, you obviously need data update permissions in your Oracle database. Received on Thu Feb 13 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
