In a response to the original note on Oracle coalesce of tablespace free extents it was stated >>

name coalesce level x'' (where x =65536*number of free extents + ts# from sys.ts$ for this tablespace).

I have always just used the file# to be coalesced for 'x' above. It seems to work, and this is how the command was given to me by an Oracle consultant. Can anyone else shed some light on this?   Received on Thu Feb 06 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
