archivlog destination, ORA 00256 + ORA 07287

Hi,

I'm running ORACLE 7.2 on HP-UX 10.01 and have the following problem.

 I want to start the instance with archivlog on. So, I defined in init.ora:
log_archive_start=true
log_archive_dest=/oracle/archivlog

/oracle/archivlog is a journaled file system (vxfs) with no files on it.

If I try to start the instnace I get the following errors:

ORA 00256: error occured in translating archive text string '/oracle/archivlog'

ORA 07287: soagdi: unsupported device for log archiving
