FWIW: I would read this newsgroup OFTEN B4 you decide on other OS's besides UNIX. The RAID issue appears to be a major setback on NT. Were using Oracle V7.1.6 (upgrading to V7.2.3 now) on a Solaris 2.5 platform with a Megadrive raid and have 0 problems with performance or "hot swapping" our failed RAID drive while the DB was up and RUNNING!
