No, you should not use the Windows 95 driver. This is a 32-bit driver but
Excel 5.0 is only a 16-bit application.
You failed to mention the connect string you used in setting up your new data source. The SQL*Net v2 format is as follows:
tns:db.server.world
where "db.server.world" is an entry in your TNSNAMES.ORA file (should be in a directory called /ORAWIN/NETWORK/ADMIN). For info on setting up the TNSNAMES file refer to Oracle docs. There should be a sample installed as part of the installation.
