Oracle Enterprise Manager Problem

Hi all and a very good New Year to everyone !

I hope someone out there can help me with this one...

I'm trying to install OEM Release 1.2 on an NT machine (3.51) which has been correctly configured
with SQL*Net 2.3 ( I can successfully connect via SQL*Plus to an Oracle 7.3 database running
under Netware on a Compaq Proliant ).

The installation of OEM seemed ok - all icons were created on the client side; I created a
repository user (OEM_TEST) on the server side and ran the scripts to create the appropriate
repository objects - all ok.

Now if I try to run modules which prompt for logon as the repository owner (OEM_TEST),
they fail with the following errors:

  1. Failed to get local hostname
  2. VOC_00002: Internal error - Failure to obtain interface [Logon]

Some modules ask for a server logon only (as opposed to repository logon) and those work fine.
Sometimes these modules then ask you for the logon details of the repository and when I enter
OEM_TEST, password, service name, the connect seems to work fine.

I have a vague feeling the topology.ora file has something to do with this...

HELP ! Thanks in advance,

Andreas Hess
