The Oracle Universal Server, *I believe*, is not Oracle certified for Windows NT 4.0. The next release of the Server and many other Oracle products will be Oracle-certified for NT 4.0. What this means to you is that if you install this *production* database on NT 4.0, and you encounter problems such that you need to contact Oracle support, they may be unable to fully assist in resolving any problems or questions.

It has been my experience that NT3.51 has better performance (network and overall) than NT 4.0. With that said, I'm currently running Universal Server 7.3.2.2 on NT Workstation 4.0, but then again, I'm not running any production database and my job isn't in jeopardy if I come across an error that can't immediately be resolved.

My $.02.
