Oracle mirroring for redo log files versus using RAID 1?

I am currently configuring anOracle NT dual pentium pro server with RAID 1.
 I am new to the use of fault tolerant disk systems.  Are there reasons to
use Oracle mirroring for redo log files versus using RAID 1?
