Well, I am confused, now.

I have Oracle 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 on HP-UX 9.04 and 10.10. On all of my servers, I am both
OS-authenticated when I am signed on to UNIX, and externally identified when signing on via SQL*Net. I thought it was wierd to try it, but it works for me and I use it both ways, every day.

Heres how I set it up. First, create the user as OS-authenticated. Then, ALTER USER id IDENTIFIED BY password.

It can't hurt to try it, it may work for you, too. Received on Fri Dec 13 1996 - 00:00:00 CST
