On performance, there is no difference between Workgroup and Enterprise. Workgroup Server has only functionlly limitation in comparison with Enterprise. At least, this is probably true until Rel7.2. But, some functions such as parallel query, bit-map index (these are not supported on Workgroup7.3) affect the performance.

So, if you would't use Enterprise' functions enhanced from Workgroup, you may apply Workgroup to your system.
