In the DBA Handbook there is a section on Physical Layout that references the ideal 22-disk configuration, where tablespaces and logs/files are matched 1-1 with a physical hard disk unit.
The discussion continues to iterate on compromises to this 22-disk solution, eventually arriving at a 7-disk solution.
I am interested in hearing from anyone regarding their disk layouts; how "minimum" can you get, at what volume, and still retain recoverability/performance integrity?
