It does work, and I do so to an Alpha OpenVMS machine with ORACLE7 V7.1.5.2.3

First try to telnet to the machine to make sure your Win95 TCP/IP setup is working okay. Ensure that you have configured your SQL*Net properly (TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA) using the network configuration tool provided with the client. Then connect to your Sun and test the network with the ORACLE 'pinger' provided. Then try the SQL*Plus.

You may find that the required support files for V7.1 are not distributed with your Win95 client. You will need this. Obtain it from an older Windows 3.1 Support Files CD.

Also, some client software depends upon the presence of Windows 3.1 DLL's and won't work with the Win95 client alone (ie AdHawk). You will have to install the Windows 3.1 client software as well.
