Make shure you have run the analyze table estimate/compute statistics.
I am shure you did this.
Make shure you have the compatible parameter up to 7.3.2 not just 7.3.
Maybe Oracle expert will give you a good hint ? open cursors, sort area size ..
I 'd be very interested in this benchmarks for different platforms. If it's not too much work i will run it on a 2CPU PowerChallenge R10000 and/or a IBM RS6000 580H.
