Greg,

Try typing:

$ TNSLSNR START listername

The name of the listener defaults to LISTENER.

I have been running SQL*Net V 2.x for DecNet and TCP/IP on a pair of Alpha 2100's under OpenVMS V 6.1 for a while now. If you have any questions, ask! I'll help you if I can.
