I have found the need to zero out various NUMBER columns in 
the V$ performance tables without bouncing the engine.  I've 
spoken with a few people, and all agree that this cannot be
done...



However, it is possible to work up some type of scheme using
counters and subtraction, but this is not very clean.  



Any suggestions will be appreciated.
