Flat-soled spokeshaves are the best choice for shaping straight or convex stock. Round-bottomed shaves are for shaping concave surfaces. Depth of cut in these Anant shaves is adjusted with two knurled screws, so blades can be set parallel to the sole or slightly askew to offer both fine and coarse cutting without further adjustment.
