Dude ( or dudette ) ... when you do a "su - oracle" ... stuff has changed. Your PATH has changed probably ( quite a bit ) ... your DISPLAY that you exported as root is no longer in effect ... just because you can do things as root has little or no connection as to whether the plumbing is still in place for the oracle user.

To me it seems shaky the IP address ... most static IP addresses for a real solaris server are unlikely to be 192.168.1.8 that don't sound right ( is that some kind of VPN type of connection ... cisco gateway ? ).

Probably some other clues in your error message "Xlib: No protocol specified" ... google is your friend. Received on Tue Apr 21 2009 - 07:28:31 CDT
