LOV button on Oracle form

I'm currently trying to build a database in oracle for a made up scenario for a University assignment. On one of the forms there is a field called 'Region of UK' which the user would choose from a list of values. This list corresponds with another table that I have created. I have managed to make a button that once pressed a list of all the regions available appears in a little box. The problem I'm having is making the selected value e.g. the user selects 'EAST MID' appear in the field region of uk.

Can anyone help or give me some advise on where I might be going wrong.
