You will want to make certain that you have the latest version of
MDAC:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937730.aspx
Note that Microsoft stopped distributing a wide variety of drivers in
the more recent MDAC releases, so I usually install MDAC 1.5 on new
client computers in addition to MDAC 2.8. You might want to switch to
using the OraOLEDB provider, rather than the Microsoft supplied
driver. The ConnectionString changes from:
"Provider=MSDAORA.1;User ID=MyUsername;Password=MyPassword;Data
Source=MySID"
-to-
"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=MyUsername;Password=MyPassword;Data
Source=MySID"
Also, you will need to perform a Custom install of the Oracle 10.2 client so that the necessary driver files are copied to the client computer.
