I would like to endorse that comment. Currently you are setting up a tool that should run on a low level as possible in a high level environment.
In 1987 I took over an application which was driven by a homegrown record locking system, and a homegrown index sequential system. The system was written in Vax-Pascal instead of Assembler, it was a complete failure.
