Thanks, it seems I was posting that within a minute of you posting your most excellent longer response :-)

I was a bit surprised I couldn't easily find it on www.oracle.com. Could just be me :-)

The store had a special link for a cheap SE1, but when I clicked on it it went to the regular SE1 page with the regular price. I wasn't about to login and checkout to see if it gave the special :-)

As I recall, it was $400 for PE and $800 special for SE1. I couldn't see where it says PE is for Windows only. And of course, I don't really care, but I figure others seeing this thread might.
