i don't know what this thing produces, but it's not the md5-hash that one might expect. (i refer to the code of the last comment of the article)

i used the implementation in
http://www.galileocomputing.de/openbook/javainsel6/javainsel_24_005.htm#Xxx999742 and get a runtime of 1-2 seconds, instead of 0,4-0,6 seconds.
