For the forseeable future ... none of the open source databases can meet the requirements of the various governmental regulations around audit and security (SarbOx, PIPEDA, FACTA, Basel II). Nor can they support any of the industrial strength apps (eBS, PeopleSoft, SAP). Until they do they will not be serious contenders.
