Profiling using PLSQL Developer

I want to do some profiling for Oracle 8.1.7 on Windows 2000 using PLSQL developer (ver 5.0.0.474). I should be able to view the profile graphically. There is an excellent article on the internet about Profiling
using TOAD but I use a free downloadable version of TOAD which has the "Database > PL/SQL Profiling" option grayed out. Some webpages suggest that PLSql Developer is a viable alternative but I have not come across a step-by-step guide detailing its use for profiling.

Please point me to a resource which can act like a step-by-step guide for PLSql Developer's use for Profiling.
