Interbase / Oracle Communication

I have a customer which currently resides on a 32bit IBM RS6000 under Unix AIX, with an Interbase database. The system is migrating over to a 64bit IBM RS6000 under Unix AIX, with an Oracle 10g database.

This migration will take several months and we have a requirement to manage data across both platforms / servers.

Is there any way we can have an application that resides on either server, preferably the 64bit, which can communicate with both databases. I am looking at either C, SQL or COBOL language to manage this.

The process will be required to validate in real time so I am looking for something that has a reasonably fast turnaround access / response time.

Any ideas? Received on Mon May 22 2006 - 07:21:49 CDT
