You are sure you aren't comparing apple and pears? You are aware XE is
limited to one single CPU?
Do you have a single CPU on the 8.0 server?
Are you using the same parameters, or did you just install both
databases out of the box.
Did you ever change the size of the redolog files on the 8.0 database
and never on the XE server.
Do you think this group can answer your query when you only specify
8.0 10g Xe
It doesn't work.
