Jonl, I think reading the material as referenced by JG is a good idea. How long Oracle holds change data in the undo tablespace is a factor of the undo retention period and how much committed change data is generated. Once Oracle has used all available undo the rdbms will start discarding committed data even if it is less than the retention period unless guarentee has been set. But it you had enough rbs space now you should have enough space under the new setup. Uncommitted data will be held even past the retention period as long as space exists or can be made.
