Did it used to work? In the recent past, were you been able to connect to the database server and do anything (e.g. SELECT * FROM DUAL; ) ?

If you are doing an assignment then surely the education facility must have help available to ensure you have the core basics needed to work on your assignments - have you asked them for help?

Did you get a specific error code number with the error? If so then go to one of the oracle web sites (not sure off hand which one) and lookup that error code. The results will likely provide some suggested solutions. Received on Fri Dec 02 2005 - 15:19:54 CST
