Thanks for your post joel.
I have been reviewing and, as far as i know on hp-ux systems, the space for virtual memory is 3/4 RAM + swap. I thought that for 4 Gb of needed memory (including kernel, hpux processes and oracle processes) with 2 Gb RAM and 6 Gb swap it was enaugh ( 2*3/4 + 6 = 7.5 space for 4 Gb). Anyway i will consider to increase swap space as you have told me as I can't increase the RAM.
My worries are now if i will have poor performance because of the low amount of RAM. The RAM is enough to have the sga in it and i can also lock it in memory, but i have not been in a situation like this. Regarding to the other items of your post:
- Cutting down the pga_agregate_target probably will decrease the
amount of memory of oracle user processes but the performance too.
- I have the UnlockableMem set to 0.
