Hello Paul,

it's an Oracle9i database and the observed program is a Forms45-program running on on W2K(SP4)German.

The vendor is not reachable since one year and shoud i try to rebuild the functionality beause the original program is incompatible with an second important program running in the same machine.

I will check out Sybrand Bakker's advise and your given link. Thank you for helping. Maybe i need some more information in future because i'am wrote a couple of programs (VB and OLE-DB) with Oracle or SQL-Server-databases but I don't mind about the deeper internals of the databases itself till yet.
