Oracle on Itanium and libclntsh.so/sl HP-UX

I have a PA_RISC based application which for a myriad of reasons needs to remain PA_RISC for the next little while. In the interim, however, I do want to provide access to Oracle databases, in which we dynamically load libclntsh.sl and whatever symbols that we use in the OCI.

However, on Itanium Oracle seems to only supply the ELF versions of the libraries in 32-bit and 64-bit modes. The problem being that you cannot load an ELF based library from PA_RISC programs.

In other forums, it was suggested that you load the PA_RISC libraries from "somewhere else" and dynamically use that on Itanium. Has anyone actually done this and does it work? Received on Tue Aug 23 2005 - 08:00:30 CDT
